Youth Academy 2025
The North Plainfield Police Department provides the youth of North Plainfield with a free summer Youth Academy as an opportunity to develop an understanding of the role of the police officer. Modeled after actual Police Academy curriculum, cadets undergo physical training, drill and ceremony training, instruction in criminal investigation techniques, and evidence recovery and patrol practices.
The Youth Academy will be held for one week from July 7 to July 11, 2025, from 9:00AM to 3:00PM at
the Somerset Intermediate School located at 303 Somerset Street. The program is open to children 12-15 years of age as of July 1 and entering Grades 7, 8, or 9 the following school year.
Cadets are provided a t-shirt and cap to wear during the Academy. Upon successful completion of the
program, cadets will participate in a graduation ceremony and will receive a certificate of completion.
Those interested in attending the Academy must return the completed application with the Release
and Waiver forms to Detective Sergeant Domizi no later than Friday, June 6. The forms can be hand
delivered or mailed to the Police Department. The application may also be emailed to Detective Sergeant Domizi at
