North Plainfield BORO., N.J. North Plainfield Police Chief Alan McKay announces that on April 14ᵗʰ,
2025 & April 15ᵗʰ, 2025 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM the police department will be
holding a “bicycle give away / donation” to the youth of North Plainfield. This event is designed
to provide a child with a bicycle while also providing an opportunity for a positive interaction
between police officers and families.
Throughout the year, abandoned bicycles are held in the hopes that they will be claimed by their
owners. After a period of time, determined by New Jersey State statute the bicycles can be disposed
of as the police department deems fit. The NPPD currently has nineteen (19) bicycles in its
possession. These bicycles (1 per youth) will be given away, on a first come first serve basis, at
the North Plainfield Police (rear-lot) Department, located at 263 Somerset Street, on April 14,
2025, and April 15, 2025, between 10:00 AM., and 1:00 PM., or until bikes last. Any questions can
